UTE General Assembly National Theatre of Northern Greece | Thessaloniki, Greece

The first UTE general assembly of 2023 was hosted by the the National Theatre of Northern Greece (Thessaloniki, Greece) on the 30th of April 2023. UTE members from across Europe met to discuss future UTE projects, the next UTE Festival as well as vote a new member. The UTE is honored to welcome the Slovenian National Theatre Drama Ljubljana as a member. We are hoping for many years of close collaboration and exciting artistic projects. The UTE is preparing the next UTE Festival. The 21st edition of the festival will take place in November in Romania. Soon more news about the invited performances will be available. Meanwhile the UTE members are preparing their own festivals: Forest International Festival will take place from the 26th of May to the 15th of June in Thessaloniki, the Small Season Festival will take place from the 24th of June to the 2nd of July in Sofia.

UTE 30 Years

Union des Théâtres de l'Europe gathered, in the last 3 decades, some of the most important European theatres and artists. Through festivals, exhibitions, exchanges, masterclasses, cooperation projects, the UTE help create a continuous flow between West and East, between generations, between tradition and innovation. Our celebration is inspired by this rich history. With the help of the Interferences International Theatre Festival, we wish to remember some of the best performances presented at past editions of the UTE festival and look forward to new horizons.
