UTE General Assembly Teatro Nacional Sao Joao Porto, Portugal

The last UTE General Assembly of 2024 took place on the 8th of December at Teatro Nacional São João (TNSJ), Porto, Portugal. The meeting ended 4 days of intense exchange in the framework of the International Dramaturgy Conference, coproduce by TNSJ and UTE. The UTE members met at Teatro Carlos Alberto, one of the venues of TNSJ, to discuss their future, elect a new president and board and plan new and exciting projects. The Assembly decided to re-elect the current UTE president Gábor Tompa, general manager of the Hungarian Theatre of Cluj, Romania, renewing their confidence in this vision and proved leadership. Together with Mr Tompa the Assembly decided to renew the mandate as board members of Francisca Carneiro Fernandes, cultural manager, Tamara Vuckovic Manojlovic, general manager of Yugoslav Drama Theatre and Florian Hirsch, head dramaturg of Théâtre National de Luxembourg. The UTE welcomes three new board members: Carme Portaceli, artistic director of Teatre Nacional de Catalunya, Silvia Cabasino, head of Education and International Relations of Teatro di Roma and Stefan Ivanov, head dramaturg of Theatre Laboratory Sfumato, Sofia, Bulgaria.

We thank the team of TNSJ for their valuable help in organising a successful meeting and wish the new board members a collaboration rich in projects and exchanges.
