Hamlet is undoubtedly the most famous play in history, written around 1600 by a man who, like Atlas, sought to take the globe in his hands—and with it all human affairs—and place them upon his small theatre in South London, the Globe. From that moment on, theatre would become a mirror in which humanity could observe itself critically through works that are inexhaustible masterpieces of pure passion and dramatic action.
