Florian Hirsch, born 1979 in Berlin, dramaturg, author, and translator, did his Master in German Literature and American Studies at Humboldt Universität and Freie Universität Berlin. After various independent productions in Berlin and working as dramaturgy assistant at Maxim Gorki Theater, Hirsch was appointed dramaturg at Burgtheater Vienna, Austria. He stayed from 2009 to 2019 and worked there as well as at the Salzburger Festspiele and Ruhrfestspiele Recklinghausen, among others with Jan Lauwers & Needcompany, Jette Steckel, David Bösch, Anna Bergmann, Frank Hoffmann, Antú Romero Nunes, Tina Lanik, Christina Tscharyiski, Stefan Bachmann, Michael Laub, Christian Stückl, Georg Schmiedleitner, Franz-Xaver Mayr, Martin Laberenz and Sara Abbasi. Since 2019 Florian Hirsch is Head Dramaturg at the Théâtre National du Luxembourg.
